Watercolor Wings Card: Stampin’ Up!
Hello and welcome to the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop! This week it’s all about the butterflies, and I know you’ll be inspired as you hop around the world and visit each one of my fabulous teammates.
For my card today I wanted to create something organic, soft, and beautiful, but still with my ‘look’. I choose to create this watercoloured background with my Aqua Painter and Tempting Turquoise Ink, and then added some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to really make it pop!
The butterfly was stamped in Daffodil Delight and Memento Tuxedo Black and die cut with the co-ordinating framelits. The Silver Metallic Thread makes the perfect whimsical base for my butterfly.
Celebrate Everyday – Stampin’ UP Artisan Blog Hop
This week we were to use the Bold Butterfly Framelits and the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set. I could have gone wild and used each stamp image but I choose to stick to the single large butterfly images. A tip I got from Erica Cerwin on this stamp and framelits was to stamp the body after you cut it with the framelit. Because it it a photopolymer clear stamp then it is easy to line up. I still had the Tag a Bag Accessory Pack (paper doilies, linen thread and tags) from last week on my work space, so I used it again. I love using up all of supplies in the kits! I punched another hole on the other end of tag using another one for a guide and a 1/4″ circle punch. I took the new Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bags and embossed them with the Fluttering Textured Impressions Embossing Folder thru my Big Shot. Then I just cut the bag and made two layers for my cards. I roughed them up on the edges a little. Then I took one whole Kraft Gift Bag and just added the embellished tag to the bag.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this inspires you!
This project was inspired by my You’ve Got This Set and Box with the set of small note cards and the colors. As always, all of the layers make these little cards special. I have told you before, but I am going to tell you again – you need the Corrugated Paper. It is such an easy way to add a fun touch of texture. Also, the softness of the Vellum Card Stock is a nice contrast to the rough texture.
