When it comes to Techniques…….I’m over-board. I can’t get enough, so I am delighted to try the Faux Rusted Metal Technique.
I watched Allison Okamitsu Video
and just followed her instructions for this Technique. I’ve include the video at the bottom of this post. The heart I created is the early stages of rusting. I did the technique on a doily as well …I’m going to show you the steps to accomplishing this.
Tip: cut 1″ x 11″ Basic Gray – to get all 6 hearts punched, alternate punching on one-side then turn around and punch on other side. Tap Encore Metallic Gold Ink randomly, then add Gold Embossing Powder. I moved the embossing powder around with my finger. If I had it to do over …..I would have shaken off a little of the gold powder. I ended up with large amounts in some places.
Soft Suede and Cajun Craze Inks: Rub……….. Pound-in till you have the color you want. DRY
Pool Party Embossing Powder ,try to cover only were you’ve inked ( the powder will stick to other parts of the gold, make sure you brush it off before heart setting)
Repeat until you have 3 hearts. I LOVE THIS LOOK!
Fold over to make a pleat (it will crack but it does not SHOW) Then fold, making a pleat the opposite direction.
Were it’s flat at the top V, I used glue dots to connect to card (goes at TOP ), because every other V is raised I added Dimensionals.
Gold Baker’s Twine folded over and tie a KNOT in center. Rubbed the cord in Glue Stick lightly (to hold the cord together. Dry glue before adding to card….this will give the cording body and stay were you want it to be)
Glue dotted the knot on right, draped across and glued to the back of Flashback DSP.
loved this technique so much she’s been bust creating more cards and I an excited to share them with you!
